(LEX 18)–Ronald Exantus, the man accused of killing 7-year-old Logan Tipton in Woodford County in December 2015 is set to go to trial February 26th in Lexington.
A total of ten motions were filed in court Thursday, many of them dealing with jury selection and things allowed in the courtroom at trial.
As he has in the past, Exantus remained silent.
The defense asked for additional opportunities to reject potential jurors. No immediate ruling was made.
The judge then granted the defense’s motion asking that the court limit “disruptive behavior in court” meaning no one can wear shirts buttons or signs in the courtroom during trial that could in some way sway the jury.
The defense also requested that the death penalty be taken off the table – the commonwealth has two weeks to respond.
