Congratulations to:

Karen Rignall of the University of Kentucky, who has received a $50,000 Whiting  Foundation Public Engagement Fellowship to pursue research of “Stories of Place in a Changing Appalachia.”


Soraya Matthews, Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for high schools at Fayette County Public Schools.  She’ll receive the 2018 Dr. Johnnie Grissom Award from the Kentucky Board of Education.  It recognizes a person or organization that has exhibited leadership, commitment and service to promoting high achievement and closing the achievement gap.


Michael A. Lynn of the Blue Grass Airport Police Department, who was among those graduated from the Public Safety Dispatch Academy at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training.


Henry Clay junior Theo Ehrenborg, who was first, freshman Sadie Bograd, second and Lafayette Junior Grace Simpson who was third in the Lexington League of Women Voters 2018 essay contest.
