(LEX 18) — An investigation was underway in Jessamine County after police fatally shot a man early Thursday morning.

Authorities said the shooting occurred about 12:30 a.m. on Beauford Place in Nicholasville.

The Jessamine County coroner said a 27-year-old man was killed but did not immediately release his full identification.

Officials tell LEX 18 that the Kentucky State Police’s Critical Response Team will handle the investigation.
