Lexington police took a man into custody after a teen reported somebody broke into her bedroom and assaulted her early Wednesday morning. Police say the teen told them the suspect came into her home along Withers Avenue around 3 a.m., assaulted her in her bedroom and then left. She went to police headquarters and reported the incident, and officers started searching the area for a suspect. Officers say they spotted a man matching the description provided by the victim, and chased him down near Whitaker Bank Ballpark. The victim was taken to UK Hospital. Police took the man in for questioning.
