Fire damaged a home in Lexington early Monday morning. Firefighters say the fire apparently started in a back bedroom of a house on Second Street just after midnight. The woman who lives there wasn't home at the time. Neighbors said there were dogs inside, but firefighters say they did not locate any animals. Crews contained the fire to the back bedroom, but smoke, flames and water still caused significant damage. Firefighters say the woman who lives in the house came home and became physically sick when she saw her house burning. EMS took her to the hospital to get checked out. Officials did not say what caused the fire.
