Congratulations to:

The University of Kentucky Speech and Debate Team, winners of the Tri-State Invitational Speech and Debate Tournament.

The speech and debate team from Henry Clay High School, which won first place in the 2017 Smoky Mountain Invitational.  First-place winners included Cooper Boss in After Dinner Speaking; Emma Bellomy and Maddie Butler, Improvisational Duo, and Young-Kyung Kim and Zach Sippy, Debate.

Mary Richardson, a fourth grader at Stonewall Elementary in Lexington, who earned first-place honors in a national art contest sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Japanese.

Col. Michael Ferguson of Versailles, who’s been named to the Veterans’ Program Trust Fund Board of Directors.

Shane Prater, who works for Republic Services of Lexington.  He won the Republic National Truck ROAD-EO in the technician category, identying and troubleshooting 10 vehicle problems in an allotted amount of time.
