CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Detroit Pistons were sick, injured, foul-wracked and turnover-plagued. Otherwise, everything went smoothly Wednesday. The Pistons offered their least resistance in a game in weeks and lost 102-78 to the Charlotte Hornets. It was Detroit’s most lopsided loss of the season.
Reggie Jackson played through an ongoing illness, then twisted an ankle in the first half and had to play through it. Meantime, Andre Drummond and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope battled foul trouble and both became clearly frustrated with their lack of production as the game progressed. Six Hornets scored in double figures, led by Marvin Williams with 18 points. Kemba Walker had all 17 of his points by halftime. The Pistons’ worst loss of the season before Wednesday was a 22-point loss Dec. 15 at the Los Angeles Clippers, 113-91. The Pistons (29-46) have seven games remaining.
