Auto Industry Suffers as Canadian Trucker Protests Enter Fourth Day

DETROIT, February 7, 2021 ~ As the blockade of Canadian truckers protesting at the Ambassador Bridge continues into its fourth day, supply chain shortages are hurting the auto industry, and problems in medical and agricultural industries could follow if the protests are prolonged.

General Motors, Ford, Toyota, and Stellantis have all lessened production at several plants in the US and Canada due to supply delays. Additionally, shifts have been cut and furloughs have been proposed if necessary.
