WASHINGTON DC, March 28, 2022 ~ President Joe Biden and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki made conflicting statements last week regarding the national food supply.

The shortage is “gonna be real,” said President Biden, while Psaki stated “we’re not expecting a food shortage here, at home, but we do anticipate that higher energy, fertilizer, wheat, and corn prices could impact the prices of growing and purchasing critical food supplies for countries around the world.

760 WJR‘s “Food First Michigan” Host Dr. Phillip Knight offered his perspective Monday, saying “fertilizer is up three times what it was a year ago, so we are gonna pay for that in the grocery storebut as long as we can curb any panic buying, I think we’ll weather the storm.”

Will the US soon experience food shortages, or will farming costs simply cause prices to continue to rise? Dr. Knight goes in-depth with 760 WJR’s Guy Gordon, here.
