DETROIT, October 12, 2022 ~ General Motors announced Tuesday the establishment of GM Energy, a new division that the company says will change energy in this country as we know it.
Billed as an “holistic ecosystem,” the division’s products will consist of three separate parts: GM’s already existing Ultium Charge 360, which is a developing network of integrated public charging stations, Ultium Commercial, which will provide cohesive energy management solutions for businesses and communities, and Ultium Home, which will allow EV owners to charge their vehicles, power their homes in emergencies, and sell back surplus energy to the grid.
These products cumulatively represent GM’s boldest move yet in competing with Tesla, providing the broadest range of EV services available.
