EAST LANSING, February 20, 2023 ~ One week after the tragic shootings at MSU, faculty and students at the university are trying to work their way back towards some sense of normalcy.
Classes are expected to resume today, though many students are hesitant to return. Thousands of students signed a petition over the weekend that requests virtual learning options, while others are considering just-announced credit/no credit choices that would allow them to ease back into classes.

(CONTINUED) Meanwhile, the five students wounded in last Monday’s deadly attack remain hospitalized. Officials with Sparrow Health suggest that all five are improving, though three remain in critical condition. Of the others, one is listed as stable but critical and the fifth is listed as fair.
Funerals over the weekend laid to rest students Arielle Anderson, Brian Fraser, and Alexandria Verner, with families, friends, and communities coming together to honor the lost, grieve, and try to make sense of the senseless.
MSU officials stated Sunday that the university will be covering the funeral costs for those killed, as well as all medical expenses for those injured.
