GRAND RAPIDS, February 22, 2023 ~ Controversial conservative Kristina Karamo was elected Saturday to chair the Michigan GOP through 2024.
Karamo, who was unsuccessful in her bid last year to become Michigan secretary of state, originally came to prominence after making yet-to-be substantiated fraud allegations regarding the processing of ballots in the 2020 election.
“Where there have been violations of the law, I’m going to speak truth about it,” Karamo said Wednesday on “The Paul W. Smith Show.”

(CONTINUED) “The thing about it is … individuals are trying to paint me in a negative light and refuse to hear our side of the story because they have an agenda.”
“I do not allow the comments of those who are my detractors to get me off of what I’m focused on, and that is to take back the [Michigan] House and the Senate, and for us to be victorious in the US Senate and the presidency.”
After three rounds of ballots at the Michigan GOP State Convention in Grand Rapids, Karamo edged out the Trump-endorsed candidate, Matt DePerno, to secure the chair.
Trump took to Truth Social after Karamo’s appointment, calling her a “fearless election denier.”
Although Democrat Jocelyn Benson won the Michigan secretary of state election by more than 12 points, Karamo has yet to concede, citing unspecified fraudulent processes.
