DETROIT, May 9, 2022 ~ High-school-aged teens can exercise for free this summer from May 16 through August 31 at any Planet Fitness location in the United States and Canada.
“I can’t think of a group that is more deserving of this type of an offer, in terms of what they have struggled with over the last two years,” said Bryan Rief, co-Owner and CEO of PF Michigan Group, one of the nation’s largest franchisees of Planet Fitness gyms.
According to the Journal of the American Medical Association Network Open, less than 15 percent of teens met the 60-minute daily physical activity recommendation during the pandemic.
In addition to the free membership, all applicants are entered into the Planet Fitness High School Summer Pass Sweepstakes, with one winner in each state receiving a $500 scholarship, and one grand prize winner receiving a scholarship of $5,000.
