DETROIT, January 23, 2023 ~ NFL divisional round playoffs have brought us to four, with the Philadelphia Eagles now set to face the San Francisco 49ers in Philadelphia, and the Cincinatti Bengals headed face the Kansas City Chiefs in Kansas City. Games air next Sunday, January 29 starting at 3 p.m.
The drama began early Saturday afternoon, when Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain in the first quarter, temporarily sidelining him in their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Despite the injury, the No 1 seed Chiefs rallied, with backup quarterback Chad Henne helming a 98-yard touchdown drive, and Mahomes later returning to the game to clinch their fifth AFC championship game appearance. The Chiefs defeated the Jaguars in a close matchup, 27-20.

(CONTINUED) Later Saturday, the Philadelphia Eagles submitted a strong performance against the New York Giants, with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts throwing for 154 yards and two touchdowns, and running backs Kenneth Gainwell and Miles Sanders combining to rush for over 200 yards. The Eagles will advance to the NFC championship round with a 38-7 win over New York.
Sunday’s early matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Buffalo Bills played out in a snowy backdrop, with injured Bills safety Damar Hamlin in attendance for the first time since suffering an on-field cardiac arrest back on January 6. Home field advantage and the appearance of Hamlin weren’t enough however to lift the Bills to victory, with Bangles quarterback Joe Burrow gaining an early lead that never really narrowed. Cincinnati’s 27-10 win sends them to face the chiefs in the AFC championship game.

(CONTINUED) The closest game of the weekend came last, with Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys taking on the San Francisco 49ers and rookie quarterback Brock Purdy. Purdy, who took over for the injured Jimmy Garropolo back in December, continues to be a surprise sensation, with a now 7-0 record as an NFL starter. The 49ers head to the NFC championship game with a 19-12 win.
