MIAMI — Even in defeat, and when most of the Detroit Pistons don’t play well, the signs of growth can shine through. Andre Drummond is finding his post game. His career-high 32 points in Sunday’s 109-102 loss to the Miami Heat weren’t all just lob dunks, which largely were denied in the first half, or putbacks on rebounds, a category the Heat dominated and which cost Detroit the game. But Drummond still found a way. He dropped in five hook shots on a 14-of-17 night, and when the Heat took away his pick-andoll option in the first half, he got inside position which forced teammates to find him, then delivered via more traditional post offense.
