DETROIT — Most contracts prohibit NFL players from participating in extreme sports, but the Detroit Lions don’t seem particularly concerned about DeAndre Levy’s latest exploits. The linebacker posted photos to Instagram of walking along the wing of a biplane.
“The official position,” team president Tom Lewand said, “is don’t fall.” Lewand made the comment Tuesday night during a town hall meeting with season ticket holders, and it drew a round of laughs from the couple thousand fans on hand for the event. Levy has been known for his exotic offseason adventures for years, from hiking through the jungles of South America to swimming with great white sharks in Africa. He took those exploits to new heights — literally — this offseason with the plane walking. And the Lions don’t seem overly concerned about cramping his style.
