LANSING — Biggby Coffee informed customers of a security breach that may have resulted in personal information being disclosed to a hacker, according to a company statement.
Released Friday, the East Lansing-based coffee chain stated personal information given when a customer registered a Biggby card or provided an employment application may have been disclosed. “Last week we learned from our web developer and hosting company Traction that a criminal forced their way into our systems and accessed Biggby customer info from our customer database,” the company stated in a release. Information that may have been released included names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and information on employment history.
Customer and applicant financial information, such as credit card information and bank account numbers, Social Security numbers and driver’s license numbers were not accessed by the intruder.The incident has been reported by Traction to law enforcement authorities, including the FBI. MORE
