DETROIT, MI – Downtown Detroit might go goth for a bit Thursday night. Detroit native Alice Cooper will take a walk down Woodward Avenue in front of the John Varvatos store in downtown Detroit before playing a private show inside the shop.
Cooper, 66, played a well-received Detroit show in November. The original shock rocker showed the city that he still had what it takes to put on a wild show.
Fashion designer and Detroit native John Varvatos is hosting the star for a black carpet event. The show is only open to special guest, but Cooper will walk the black carpet at 9 p.m., prior to the show.
Varvatos opened up his first Detroit store in March. The high-end, 4,600-square-foot fashion boutique at 1500 Woodward Ave. is pegged as a retail cornerstone in downtown Detroit.
Dan Gilbert and other Bedrock Real Estate Services officials said Varvatos’s pricey store will bring in other shops at various price points.
